It is SACI's wish to make you feel comfortable in your Florentine home. SACI encourages its students to become involved with the Florence community and its lifestyle, and offers a variety of housing solutions that are fully representative of what the marvelous people of this city call "home".

In accordance with Italian law, all apartment contracts are duly registered with authorities and the names of occupants are filed each term with the local police. SACI apartments also meet health and safety standards and are covered by fire and third party liability insurance. Please note that overnight guests are not allowed in SACI housing.

SACI apartments are fully furnished and allow students to live independently. All apartments have bathrooms and kitchens, and are fully equipped with stoves, refrigerators, heat, and hot water. The SACI accommodation fee includes reasonable utilities usage and an administrative fee. SACI apartments differ in style, furnishings and amenities. Although most have been recently renovated, there is no way to standardize student apartments - some are in buildings which date back to the Renaissance and others are only a few decades old. Please note that none of the student apartments have telephones. Students can arrange for private portable cellular phone rentals if their budgets allow. Wifi is provided in all SACI apartments.

Students in SACI housing can choose to be housed in double rooms or single rooms. SACI double occupancy is a shared room in a shared apartment. This is the standard housing option covered by the SACI Housing fee. SACI single occupancy is a single room in a shared apartment, and carries an additional single supplement housing fee. Please see the fee list for more information. Please note that there are a limited number of single rooms available each term. Singles are assigned based on the date the general program deposit is received.

Students will not receive their housing assignments until their arrival in Florence.

Please do not expect to have access to your apartment prior to the official arrival date as posted on the fee and calendar sheet. If you arrive in Florence before that day, you must make other accommodation arrangements. There are no exceptions.

No pets are allowed in SACI housing.

SACI housing is not provided between terms. Academic Year, Post-Bac, MFA, and MA students staying in Italy over the Christmas break between Fall and Spring terms can remain in SACI apartments for an additional fee of $400. Students staying between Spring and Late Spring terms may reserve SACI housing between terms for an additional fee of $600. There is no additional fee for students enrolled in Late Spring and Summer terms that wish to remain in SACI housing between those terms.

Students may also choose to find their housing independently.
